The deadline for submissions for STAR Volume 38 is November 1, 2024.

Social science researchers have directly challenged and problematized the ideology of the "American Dream” by critically analyzing and exposing the fallacies and consequences of neoliberalism, the instability of the nuclear American family structure, and the dire consequences of marginalization and colonization. Critical analysis only takes us so far; social scientists may also have a role to play in developing solutions for imagined futures.

The editors of STAR invite social science scholars to submit article-length (~6,000 words) manuscripts focusing on original empirical research, theoretical contributions, book reviews, research notes, teaching articles, and critical literature reviews that addresses this year’s theme. Authors are encouraged to not only critique and analyze the ideological premise of the “American Dream,” but to conceptualize possibilities for a “new” dream.
